General Motors brings the next-generation of its best-selling Chevy Silverado to the market as the 2019 model. The all-new Silverado lifts the capability, dependability, convenience, efficiency and more to the new heights. Chevy now tries to rival the best-in-class Ford F-150 with the new turbocharged engines, reworked V-8s, modernized styling and interior and more tech than ever.
The new Silverado also comes in many forms. Depending on the demand, it can be the work truck and luxury appointed family hauler but the available off-road hardware also provides the all-terrain capability. Chevy presented the LT Trail Boss version with unique styling and Z71 off-road package. The 2019 Chevy Silverado Z71 will also appear in LTZ and LT trims. The heavy-duty Seilverados will also offer this off-road package.
2019 Chevy Silverado Z71: Performance
The 2019 Chevy Silverado Z71 comes equipped with beefed up off-road hardware which makes it fully capable of handling all situations on all terrains.
The Z71 package improves with the Rancho shocks providing a smooth ride on all kind of terrains and also guarantees the durability while carrying heavy loads. This package also includes the underbody shields for the protection of the valuable equipment. It also means wheels with all-terrain tires, recovery hooks, automatic locking differential, etc.
Powertrains:
Providing the power for the new half-ton Silverado is six powertrain combinations in total. For trims available with the Z71 package the new 2.7 turbo-4 engine will be available. This unit provides 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque. This engine will work in pair with the 8-speed automatic gearbox.
An improved 5.3-liter V-8 with better efficiency and design will improve model’s capability and performance. It delivers 355 hp and torque of 383 lb-ft.
Two other engine options are a 6.3-liter V-8 and Chevy also brings the 3.0-liter turbodiesel with the 10-speed automatic. We will see the availability of these engines with the Z71 package.
2019 Chevy Silverado Z71: Design
The new Silverado comes larger, lighter and more capable thanks to the structural upgrades. The high-tensile steel plays the main role in the chassis rigidity and performance while the mix of the lightweight materials in different sections also contribute to the weight reduction.
The styling of the model also is also more modern and air-resistant. The model swaps the squared-off shape for a more fluid form. The front and rear sections also include the restyled elements.
The 2019 Chevy Silverado Z71 adds the Z71 badge on the grille and side panel. It also sports unique grille finish and 2 inches lifted the suspension. Mentioned all-terrain wheels, underbody shields, recovery hooks, etc. also change the visual perspective.
Interior:
The Z71 package also adds unique touches inside the cabin. The Z71 badge is also found on the dash and the package bring special interior trim pieces.
All Silverado also benefit from the improved interior comfort thanks to the larger dimensions. There is more legroom in cabins. The well-placed controls are also easy to use and the newest MyLink infotainment system supports smartphone integration and other modern features.
2019 Chevy Silverado Z71: Availability, Price
The 2019 Chevy Silverado Z71 will be available in last quarter of the year. The price range should stay in line with the current. The Z71 will add around $1, 850 to the corresponding trim level.
