For the buyers who need a greater level of the towing and payload abilities, Ford has the most up-to-date Super Duty series of the full-size trucks. Ford’s major rivals presented recently the redesigned light-duty models but the heavy-duty versions will come in a year or two. On the other hand, the fully redesigned heavy-sizers from the Blue Oval Brand arrived for the 2017 model year with one of the most extensive upgrades in the industry. However, Ford also introduced an additional trim and upgraded the turbodiesel engine for the 2018 version.
As for the upcoming iteration of Ford’s Super Series and the entry-level 2019 Ford F-250, we won’t witness big changes. Ford will again make some changes in the equipment offer and update some features. The powertrains will likely continue in the same forms while the 2020 model year could bring the new 10-speed automatic transmission.
2019 Ford F-250: Design
As far as its look goes, the 2019 Ford F-250 will return with no notable changes as it was totally redesigned recently for the 2017 model year. Ford resculpted the heavy-sizers with aluminum body panels and new front and rear end designs. The new generation of trucks looks more macho and what’s more, Ford adopted the same styling language to the refreshed 2018 F-150.
What we should expect for the 2019 version is that Ford refreshes the almost unlimited number of options with new color options, wheel designs, and possibly new exterior theme.
Interior, Options:
For the recent redesign, Ford also vastly improved the interior comfort and introduced newest technologies. The new generation benefits from additional 3 inches in crew cabs while the extended cab models have 6 inches more in length. The seat comfort is also great and even better in upper grades.
Ford won’t change much inside the cabins and will again offer numerous combinations of cabs, bed lengths, trim options, and package options. The trucks will be available with the latest SYNC voice-controlled infotainment system while lower trims will get simpler versions. Multiple cameras will also be on the offer to monitor the cargo bed, trailer, and other angles. Ford will also offer active safety systems including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, etc.
The trims options will also bring variations in the exterior and interior appearance and material and comfort quality. Additional high-luxury options will also rapidly lift the price of the truck.
2019 Ford F-250: Performance
When it comes to the powering options, the 2019 Ford F-250 will return with two V-8s, 6-speed automatic transmission, standard front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive.
The standard engine remains a 6.2-liter flex-fuel V-8. This engine uses a unique version of the six-speed transmission and can produce 385 hp and torque of 430 pound-feet. The payload maximum is up to 7, 680 pounds.
As an option, Ford will offer a 6.7-liter turbodiesel V-8 engine. This engine exploits heavy-duty version of the 6-speed automatic transmission. The towing maximum reaches impressive 935 lb-ft. The number of ponies will be around 450.
2019 Ford F-250: Arrival, Price
The new 2019 Ford F-250 will hit the market in late 2018. The prices will remain close to the current range. The base versions will start at around $33k and quickly go up with additional equipment and features.
