With the relatively recent and comprehensive update for the 2017 version, the global, mid-size Holden Colorado pickup has plenty of life in it. The model relies on the proven and efficient Duramax diesel engine and comes also in a variety of style and equipment levels with plenty of upscale features available. The brand expanded also the range of versions with the SportCat models equipped with the unique styling and suspension upgrades.  

As for the next 2020 Holden Colorado, there should also be some upgrades as the report suggest. The model could get another specially styled version and boost the safety ratings with the new tech. The new color and wheel options should also appear. 

The reports claim also that the next-generation Holden Colorado is in the progress. The redesigned model should move to the new platform and grow larger. The next Colorado should also borrow more cues from the Chevy Colorado version while should keep the turbodiesel powertrain as primary. The Lion-badged Colorado should also add the hardcore off-road version similar to that of the Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison. However, the redesigned Holden Colorado should hit the market as the 2021 or 2022 version.

The next 2020 Holden Colorado will stay in current styling form and size as the recent reports indicate. The brand will offer fresh body color and wheel options and additional version could also appear for the new model year. To keep the attention on the model before the next generation version arrives, the brand might bring the new, specially styled and equipped variant influenced by the Colorado Concept presented at the 2016 Bangkok Auto Show.

The new generation Holden Colorado should, however, switch to the new platform and arrive longer and wider. The Isuzu-shared chassis and components won’t be the part of the redesigned Colorado as companies ended the partnership.

Interior, Equipment:

As for the interior design, the model will continue to live on the recent updates when the brand improved the in-cab comfort and quality and added modern tech features.

The Lion-badged Colorado will come equipped with the with newest infotainment system with the smartphone support in every version. The center display will be available in 7- and 8-inch options and with the integrated navigation. The premium comfort features and sound system will also on the equipment list.

The truck will also employ the modern safety system such as lane departure warning, forward collision alert, tire pressure monitoring and with the possible addition of the automatic emergency braking.

Under the hood of the 2020 Holden Colorado will remain the tested-and-proven 2.8-liter Duramax four-cylinder turbo diesel engine. The brand will also continue to put the focus on the diesel-powered Colorado for the new generation version but the petrol option is possible.

The Duramax diesel engine should stay at the current power and torque levels and return with the manual and automatic transmission options. The manual-gearing powertrain will provide the peak torque of 440Nm. With the automatic gearbox, the Colorado will provide 147 kW and 500Nm of torque.

The truck will ensure the towing limit of 3500 kg and the peak payload capability close to 1500 kg.
