The model entered the fifth generation for the 2016 model year but Mitsubishi struggles to maintain this truck at the class top and introduces upgrades each model year. As for the 2019 Mitsubishi L200, the latest reports suggesting revised styling and interior plus possible powertrain improvements. 2019 Mitsubishi L200: Design
Mitsubishi did some extra strengthening to the chassis for the 2018 version which now allows 3.5 tons of towing capacity to match the capability of the class-leading models. On the other hand, the current generation L200 exploits the durable underpinning from the previous version but with some strengthening and suspension upgrades.
Mitsubishi won’t likely make changes to the structure of the 2019 Mitsubishi L200 but reports promises revised front and rear end styling. The Mitsubishi L200 is stylish and distinctive truck and the owner of the largest rear overhang. The new version should, however, present the refreshed look of the front with tweaked headlights and front bumper. Truck’s distinctive grille should also look slightly different as well as taillights.
Interior, Equipment:
The cabins of the L200 deliver the class-top space and leg comfort and also offers the number of high-end tech and convenience features. The durable materials are used in lower spec versions but high-quality materials will be available in upper grades. The model received upgraded infotainment features for the 2018 version and buyers will enjoy in voice control functionality and smartphone compatibility.
For the new model year, the L200 is expected to lift the quality of cabin materials and add new patterns. In order to stay at the class-top, the new L200 should also add new active driver systems.
2019 Mitsubishi L200: Performance
Mitsubishi introduced the new diesel engine for the fifth-generation L200 and the 2019 Mitsubishi L200 will continue with the same engine options. A 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine has an aluminum block and exploits precision common rail direct injection for greater efficiency while the variable-geometry turbocharger boots performance.
The engine could get some improvements to improve current power and torque ratings and should again be available in two versions. The current less powerful version makes 158 hp and 380 Nm of torque. The more potent variant produces 178 hp and torque of 430Nm.
The L200 will again offer manual and automatic transmissions. An available super select 4WD will provide great all-weather and terrain traction and capability. The truck will also match the class-leading towing capability.
2019 Mitsubishi L200: Arrival, Price
The 2019 Mitsubishi L200 will go on sale in the late phase of 2018. The price will likely see a slight increase but the base variant should again arrive under £20,000.
