The mid-size Ford Ranger has proven as a capable and reliable ute and the Thailand-built, Australia-designed model is available in more than 160 markets globally. The Ranger returned to the US for the 2019 model year and comes there with the single engine option and in three trims initially. Ford said also that buyers in the US won’t get the Raptor version until the next generation Ranger probably for the 2022 model year.
The things are better for the buyers outside the States where buyers can get a recently refreshed Ranger in more flavors and in the hardcore Raptor trim. A step below the Raptor in the hierarchy is the Ranger Wildtrak and this model is a refined on-road runner and competent off-road performer. Refreshed for the 2019 model year, this model can be equipped with the Raptor’s bi-turbo diesel engine or the older, five-cylinder turbodiesel. The Wildtrak comes also equipped with the long list of comfort, convenience and safety features.
As for the next 2020 Ford Ranger Wildtrak, the things will mostly stay at the same place. The brand could introduce new body color options and reorganize some equipment. The price could also see some corrections but no major changes before the next generation for the successful ute.

Thanks to the recent correction on the suspension system, the Ranger Wildtrak is even more competent on-road and the availability of the Raptor-sourced twin-turbo diesel engine makes it more appealing as well.

This engine comes in the combination with the 10-speed automatic transmission and while it is more capable and torquier than the standard 3.2-liter five-cylinder oiler the engine is more economical and refined as well. The unit provides 210 hp at 3750 rpm and peak torque of 500 Nm between 1750 and 2000 rpm.
The buyers will get the Ranger Wildtrak with a 3.2-liter five-pot turbodiesel engine under the hood and the 6-speed automatic transmission by default. This engine can deliver 197 horsepower and peak torque of 470 Nm a 1700-2500 rpm.
The Wildtrak will also ensure 3.5-ton towing capacity and almost 1 ton of things can handle in the cargo bed. The model will also be effective off-road with use of standard four-wheel drive, rear diff lock and hill descent control. Improving the off-road ability are also effective low-range reduction, available low-rpm torque and good electronic traction control unit.
