FCA has done a great job with the recently redesigned half-ton Ram 1500 pickup truck and as a result, the model already improved its position on the sales chart. For years Chevy Silverado followed the best-selling Ford F-150 but the things changed in Ram’s favor and in the first quarter of the year the new, slick Ram 1500 is in front of the half-ton Chevy with more than 120, 000 units sold. The Ram 1500 accounted for a 15 percent increase while Chevy decreased the sales for almost 16 percent compared to the same period last year.
The new Ram 1500 earns attention with slicker styling and high-tech interior. The fifth-generation model increased also towing and hauling capability while improving efficiency. The redesigned light-duty Ram benefits also from the reduced weight and more efficient powertrains available with the mild-hybrid technology. The new Ram 1500 can also be everything from the work-oriented machine to a luxury appointed everyday vehicle with almost car-like drive manners.
However, for those who don’t aspire to be seen in the flashy, high-value truck yet need a capable machine with just necessary features and a bit more should choose the entry level 2020 Ram 1500 Tradesman and save thousands while still getting a modern and capable truck. The 2020 Ram 1500 won’t bring much new for the next model year except the diesel unit should appear. There should also be some changes in the equipment organization and the addition of new color options.
