The Dacia Duster or in some markets Renault Duster is a compact SUV made as the joint venture of the French carmaker and its Romania-based Dacia subsidiary. The compact SUV isn’t the most refined or fun-to-drive compact SUV or as practical or well-equipped as most of the other similar models but its best side is the affordability. Dacia redesigned the model recently and it can now be had with the revised petrol and diesel engines and more sophistical power units should appear soon. The second-generation Duster has also expanded the equipment range and offers some modern features but still lacks many upscale goodies.
However, what is important for the truck-focused buyers the newest generation Duster should also spawn the new pickup truck version. The compact Renault Duster pickup based on the first-generation Duster is available in South American market since 2015 but the latest reports indicate the arrival of the new version.
The brand is working on the new Duster pickup which will be based on the second-generation Duster SUV and should appear in the European market. There are no many official details about the model yet but it should appear by the end of the year and hit the market as the 2020 Renault Duster Pickup Truck. It is again expected that the model will be heavily based on the most-recent Duster SUV and borrow its equipment and powertrains.

2020 Renault Duster Pickup Truck: Design
Renault hasn’t revealed many details about the new 2020 Renault Duster Pickup Truck but the new generation version should again share the design and equipment with the newest Duster SUV.
The current Renault Duster pickup truck marketed in the South Amerika as the Renault Duster Oroch shares underpinning with the first-generation Duster SUV and it will be also the case with the new version which should appear in the European market as well. Actually, the second-generation Duster SUV is based on the upgraded B0 platform from the first-generation version. This implies also that the new Duster Pickup Truck should also stay in similar proportions as the current Oroch model. The actual Renault Duster Oroch sits on Duster SUV’s extend wheelbase which is 155 mm longer than on SUV version and a total length of the truck is 4,7 m.
The styling of the truck will also adopt the same design theme as the fast-selling SUV. The front section of the truck should share almost identical design as the Duster SUV while behind the rear pillars will accommodate the cargo bed with the capacity around 24.1 cubic feet.
Interior, Equipment:
The cabin of the new pickup version should also adopt the same design and the newest Duster SUV. That would mean well-arranged controls and better sound insulation than in the current version.
The truck will also have a new infotainment system with the repositioned display and slightly improved material quality. More comfortable seats should also be the part of the new generation version as well as some new features that debuted in the Duster SUV. There won’t, however, be a large number of modern comfort and tech features in order to keep the budget-friendly price.
The model should include keyless entry and ignition, automatic climate control, daytime running lights, and systems like hill start assist and hill descent control. There should also be a multi-view camera system and blind spot monitoring but not automatic emergency braking or active lane control.

2020 Renault Duster Pickup Truck: Powertrains
The powertrain range of the 2020 Renault Duster Pickup Truck should also mimic that of the Duster SUV.
The current Oroch truck uses a 1.6- and 2.0-liter petrol engines combined with 5- and 6-speed transmissions.
The new versions that should appear on the Old Continent could adopt more efficient options available in the newest generation Duster SUV. The model could use turbocharged 1.3-liter TCe petrol units with the power output around 128 and 150 hp. A naturally aspirated 1.6-liter petrol engine could return with power around 105 hp.
The diesel-powered Duster Pickup truck could also appear with the 1.5-liter dCi four-cylinder diesel engine under the hood. The power could reach around 120 hp and with AdBlue system employed to keep the emissions in check.
2020 Renault Duster Pickup Truck: Arrival, Price
The new 2020 Renault Duster Pickup Truck should reportedly appear in the European market by the end of the year. The base price is estimated to be around 12, 000 euros.
